Question Multiple Installs of RH 9

Is there a correct procedure for doing a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and yes maybe even a 20th Install of the same Red Hat software on the same PC???

I know this may come as somewhat of a shock to some , but the truth is.... in trying to get the RH distro to work, I've had an occasion to install it on the same machine, more than once.

The problem is, each time it wants you to register, and it seems that if you register using the previous login info ---it complains about that, and gives you errors.

Were it not for the fact that the Kernel needs to be updated as soon as you finish the install (along with a whole bunch of the modules), I would simply skip the register process.

So.... I'm just wondering what the proper way is to handle this, so as to get the proper updates without all the hassle of developing a new account each time.

You could go in to RHN each time, un-entitle one system, entitle the next and continue as normal. Or only register one system and manually update the next. Take a note of what needs doing and find them on the list.

Or download and install apt4rpm and do upgrades that way.

I use Apt and Synaptic for updating. Redhat's Up2date feature is already outdated.

Hope this helps
