I came across this site the other day. It does link to a site with Media Codecs but applicable (I believe) only for MPlayer, so I'm unsure of its relevance to you but hope it helps.

The site that it points too:

install mplayer then

i have been using the gui front end "smplayer" for years
then VLC only for store bought dvd's

for fedora mplayer and the default "gnome-mplayer (gmplayer) " is in the fedora extras
the qt SMplayer is in "the rpmfusion"

and for rhel 6 it is in the RPMforge repo
-- warnning on "RPMforge-extras" --
"RPMforge-extras" WILL OVERWRITE RHEL system files with DIFFERENT rpms that ARE NOT compatible the RHN !!!!!
so USE "yum-priories" plugin !!!
