Modem has been removed message at boot
 

hi,

my external serial modem V92 from pc line is removed alternately with generic modem at each boot .

var/logs/messages reports that modprobe cannot find ppp0
pppd started by root

where can i put ppp0 so mod probe can find it at boot .?

The modem works fine after query modem from kppp .

Any suggestions ?

My distro is RH9 shrike , there is no problem using mandrake 9 .

Is this a rh kernal compile issue , have noticed a few similar posts elswhere too .
