before you buy the REQUIRED license ( 1 year is $299 USD )
did you check with red hat to see if the hardware in the laptop IS supported ?

rhel was never designed for laptops ( designed for servers ) so some of the hardware in laptops are NOT SUPPORTED .

just how did you install the iso to the thumb drive ?

So for those of us who are running an EVALUATION (free) copy or an ACADEMIC (~$60) license of RHEL can we have our questions considered or is that a $299 fee?

Let me add some more information, as I'm running into the same error when installing the OS. When I tried to use red hat's instruction of using 'dd' to burn the image to the pendrive, I could not get my computer to boot from it (though the content copied without problem). Oh well, so I used unetbootin and ta-dah, success! It booted. Then I went through the installation, partitioned and formatted the hard drive and at the very last (installation) step, it gives the error "Missing iso 9660 image" with options "retry" and "exit" installation. Retry just leads to an infinite loop. Any suggestions?
