Make bzImage fails in AS 2.1

I am trying to build RedHat's stock 2.4.18-e.31 kernel on IA-64 and get the following error when doing a make bzImage

make: *** No rule to make target 'bzImage'. Stop

I've followed all of the same steps used to build kernels for other versions of Linux, but have never seen a failure at this step.

Try:
make; make dep; make modules_install; make install

This should solve the problem

'make install' fails with the same error message as make bzImage

Well I am assuming the source you downloaded must not be coded for 64 bit. I could be wrong i have no idea what you have downloaded. I would start from scratch again. Its probably in your best interest.
