lscfg for linux

Hi,
We just converted from AIX to Redhat Linux RHEL4 u8. I am trying to run lscfg and apparently it is not installed. I searched redhat for the package to download and it was not there either.

Is lscfg compatible with redhat?...if so, where can i download it? If not, are there any other commands that are similar?

Thanks in advance.

Google reveals that lscfg exists on Linux, but it is not (easily) available for my system (Arch).

Other useful tools include dmesg, lspci, and lshw

Just out of interest, why RHEL 4.8; you do know the latest is 5.4?

because we have a lot of scripts that were written to use ksh. For some reason redhat decided to do away with pdksh with RHEL5 and it caused alot of our scripts to fail. Last i checked, you cant even download the source for pdksh and build it on RHEL5. so it was just easier to use RHEL4 with pdksh.

that's the only reason....legacy stuff.

The reason they dumped pdksh is because the real ksh went open src and is avail from the usual repos, inc RH.
Also, bash is highly compatible with ksh, its based on the same ideas.

The GNU tools/cmds on Linux may have different behaviour/options from the ones you're used to. Applies no matter what shell you use.
