Locked out of Redhat 9 at Graphical Login Screen
Hi Guys,
Well I'm a new to all this having just got my Redhat 9 working also internet working & email. I logged out went to login again and the Graphical Login Screen wouldn't accept my username or password, saying I was out of time an had too contact the Administrator. Have know Idea what to do. Had a look in a book I have but it doesn't mention this problem. Hoping somebody can help. Thanks chrisjj |
you are the administrator of your comp.get on to root login and change the password.or add a new username............or whatever you want.

You need to log in as root and then unlock the account. Also check that you haven't set any expiry time on the account.

Login to Red Hat as Root.
Go to (from memory) System Tools (or Settings) and I believe that there is a user control panel in there. You need to find the setting which controls lockouts and the time period until an account expires. Sorry I couldn't be more definite, but I have uninstalled RH and am running SuSE. |
