Exclamation Linux hanging up with the new usb card

Hi everybody,
I use a p3 machine with 256MB RAM. I have windows 2000 and Red hat linux 9 in my machine.
Few days back, my usb port got some hardware problem. I contacted the serviece guys and they put one new card along with the old one. The reason is, my PST is not on mother-board. They said that no more USB cards comes with a PST facility since new machines comes with on board PST. My new card also don't have any PST facility. Thats why Iam keeping the old card also. Now Iam using PST of the old card and the USB of the new card.
Ok... Now the problem comes. After those guys have left after installing usb drivers for both windows and linux, linux started giving problems. While windows runs smoothly on the new configuration, linux is hanging up while booting. It will show "Redhat Linux 9" and will go ahead untill it initializes the usb controllers. Then the booting process will become extremly slow and it will hang up when "finding module dependencies" is executed.
So I thought of reinstalling linux on the new configuration. So i went to windows and formatted linux partion to NTFS. I thought of reformatting that partition to ext2 while installing Red hat 9.
I rebooted the machine with linux installation CD in the drive. The first screen came and I pressed enter to go to graphical installaiton.
Then it showed some progress untill it came to "running /sbin/loader" and there it is hanging up.
Now Iam not able to install a fresh copy of linux on my system.
Can any one come up with a solution???

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
