Kernel smp or e for dell machine
 
I have installed the Red Hat Linux Advance Server 2.1 on the following machine.(It is fresh installation)
I have selected all default option except hard disk partition during installation process.
When my system start it shows two kernels
smp and e
smp is default kernel.
Which kernel is correct for my machine smp or e?

machine configuration is as under
Dual Intel Xeon Processor 2.8GHz Processor

512KB L2 cache memory

2GB ECC DDR SDRAM (4 x 512MB)
1 FDD 1.44MB (3.5)

3 x146GB 10krpm SCSI Hard Drive (Dell Factory Installed)

Server Works GC-LE chipset
Combo Drive (Dell Factory Installed)

Two integrated Broadcom Gigabit Base T

Integrated ATI Rage XL controller with 4MB SDRAM

2x350 Watts Hot Plug Redundant Power supply

Versa Rack Railing

DELL Open Manage IT Assistant

PERC 3/Di with 128 MB Cache

You can use SMP. The 'e' you mention could be 'enterprise'. which I think is the hugemem kernel for 4G of RAM and up. IIRC of course!! -edit- actually smp is for over 4G too, the hugemem has some other advanced features that you can see in RH docs of their website.
