Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 08:05


hi i have some problems with linux so i need some help

when i boot it i get

kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-8, errno = 2

VFS: cannot open root device "sda5" or 08:05
Please append a correct "root=" bot option
kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 08:05

i am using sata disk. Can some one help me because i dont know what to do and i must not lost any data

sda1 ---> boot
sda2 ---> root

Assuming that you are using a distribution with GRUB: go to the menu item in the boot menu, and press 'e'. You will see a parameter that says 'root=/dev/sda5', change that to 'root=/dev/sda2'. Press enter, and boot this menu item. After booting you'll have to alter the same parameter in /boot/grub/menu.lst.

oky when i have done this i got

same error just root device "sda2" :/
