Japanese title window in RedHat 6 problem
 

Hello.

I hope that someone can help me to solve this problem. With Redhat 6 and I have set font for display Japanese. You can see in the attached images. The title of the window in gimp could not display correctly. All the text and button inside the window are fine.

How can I fix this problem.

you need to go into the preferences for your window manager (looks like cde?)

and change the font for title bars to something that supports crazy-ass languages like japanese and the characters that they bring.

whatever font it is using wasn't designed for exotic characters of this sort, so it is showing bizarro stuff as you see.

While I would not qualify Japanese, or any currently-spoken language as "crazy-ass,"
and I definitely don't think that you are using CDE under Red Hat 6 ...
I think that he is actually correct,
and that your font for title bars under this window manager doesn't contain proper Japanese characters.

Change the font in the window manager preferences and you should be good to go.

I have changed the "Window title font". In System/Preferences/Fonts. And I selected Japnaese font "Mincho-Regular". However it show the same error with window title, like the previous captures.

I think I miss some font or setting in code or bashrc.
Can you suggest me somethings ?
