Question Installing Redhat 9 Throws Signal 11

I'm trying to install redhat 9 to a computer I'm working on at school. So first off, here is the specs: a regular modern (not the old huge ones!)floppy drive (I think there called 3.35 inch), 128 mb of RAM, 7.? GB HDD, 50x cd drive (I think), amd k6-2 (500MHz), soyo SY-5EHM v1.3 motherbaord (full motherboard specs at http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?id=32 ). I every time I have ran the installer it comes to the same thing. It will start anaconda and then after a little it will say signal 11. After that it says something like "you can now safely restart your computer.". I've tried mem=50M, mem=100M, noprobe and shuting cache off in the bios. Any suggestions?

Usually a signal-11 means that there is memory corruption; probably either your RAM or your onboard cache is weak/bad. If you are overclocking, back that out, and back out any aggressive timings you might have in your BIOS.

Less likely but also possible is that either your CD-ROM is corrupted, or the CD-ROM drive you are loading from is not reading the CD correctly.

try a text only install, or another distro. You could also run memtest to make sure your ram is solid.
