Installing ivtv on CentOS 5
I'm trying to install ivtv on a new CentOS 5 system. When I do a uname -r I get 2.6.18-53.1.14.el5.
I thought that picking the comparable versions of the various ivtv files would work but that's not the case. Yumex gives me lots of red error messages. Do I have to uninstall this version of the kernel and fall back to an earlier version? Can someone tell me how to proceed? Thanks for the help. |
I got ivtv working on that centos version recently and I can't remember what I had to install.
Try: lirc-devices.noarch and gcc-c++.i386 I installed those in the process but I cant remember which one was the answer. |
Ok, thanks. I'll give it a try.

That seemed to help with most of the error messages but I'm still getting:
Missing Dependency: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-8.el5 is needed by package ivtv-kmdl-2.6.18-8.el5 If that's an old kernel, I can't find it in the repositories. I do have the ATRPMS stable and testing in the repo list but still no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks again for the help. |
try installing from latest on ivtv website, not the rpm which i am guessing you are trying.

Ok, let me try that. Thanks.
