Question installing fedora7 on hp pavilion portable tx1000

I have been trying to install linux distributions taken from various publications here in France (they are for free!) but to no avail! Fedora7 on a single disk: first it stops on IOACPI and I have to relaunch manually(before that there is a mention of a bog in the bios!), second when it comes to partitioning nothing works! the system says there is not enough room on the disk which contains 14O G ! May the problem lies with the portable (HP tx 1OOO) or even with the installed windows vista!
please your help is urgently needed!

ps I hope to get an answer if not i think i will just leave the forum which apparently is reserved to an elite I am not a member of!
