Installation of RH9: recognition of SCSI CD-rom

In trying to install RH 9.B on a dual-processor Pentium III system with 2 SCSI cd-roms and scsi hard disk (separate controllers, I think) I am unable to get the installer to "find" my CD-rom, on which the first
of the three RH 9 cd's are located. I have changed the boot sequence so that boot operation starts
from a disk image floppy, but after getting to choose language, keyboard, etc. the process stops.
I am installing over RH 7.3. I've tried looking at the manuals, but can't seem to find the appropriate fix.
Any help would be appreciated, especially since I'd like to "do this myself" rather than bug our local
technicians. (I don't know why I prefer bothering complete strangers!)

redhat 9 SCSI

You may need to create a boot floppy to overcome this problem.

On the #1 install CD is a README file that has the info you are looking for.

I had already made the boot floppy, and will now check the README file, hoping that it
has more information than in the Installation manual. Thanks.
