Angry Installation of Red hat Linux 7 on a laptop

I have a Dell Latitude CSx with external drives. I was trying to install Red Hat Linux 7 as a dual booting. I already have XP installed on my laptop. My first question is that the book comes with 3 cds and I don't know when to use each one. My second problem is that when I get through the copying process and I am supposed to create a boot disk, my computer froze up. Does someone have any idea about that?
