install linux 9 on intel 915 Pentium4, no hard drive found ?

hello,

My PC has Intel 915 board and Pentium 4 CPU with Windows XP also in it.
Now I free a logic disc F(30G) in XP, then reboot to install redhat linux 9 from CD.
But it tells" no hard drives have been found....", then reboot again.

When add device, only fast ethernet card found!

Does it need new drives for the 915 board in redhat linux 9?
How to install it?

After searching whole night, no answer found.

What type of hard drives and disk controller are installed in the system?

The OS can't detect the hardware and load and appropriate driver.

it is sata drive.

I finally succeed it.

In BIOS configure, something like IDE configuration, change the value from "Enhanced" to "Legacy", then a new one comes out below it, choose the value like "IDE0/2, PATA", save and reboot.

Now linux find the drive.
