I'm learning quite a bit as well from this thread. I'm not officially the administrator for any of the Centos systems at work and I only use Mepis at home. We have only one Centos administrator and he is usually not available and even my minimal knowledge is way ahead of the third best Linux person here. So I'm very happy to gradually learn Centos admin in this forum watching or helping someone else's problems rather than learn it on short notice demand when there is some crisis here.

I hear that. We still have the systems in test for about another week then they go live. Part of the problem is I never got any specs on how to build or what the systems are going to be used for. So its a fix it as they come up type of thing right now.

I am documenting EVERYTHING I learn along the way so when the environment grows I have some notes on what to expect.

Its amazing how different it is from AIX that I admin daily. I love Linux. I just spent last night cleaning up my GF windoz LT from getting a nasty virus. My Ubuntu LT is old but much faster and safer. I may convert her shortly to Linux.

there is a lot of good knowledgeable people on here. thanx to all that chimed in.

If you are relatively new to RHEL/Centos, the manual is here: http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...ion/index.html . Quite well written too

Add NoScript to your FF

Actually, for ads I just right click and select block ads from ... might not need NoScript; it depends.
