How to disable the kernel update notification using "Package Updater" in CentOS 5.2?

Hi all! I cannot figure out how to disable the notification of the availability of certain updates (e.g. the kernel updates) in the "Package Updater" (pup). I know I can uncheck some packages from the list to not apply updates and stick with the currently installed version, but how can I do this automatically? Is there a kind of black list to put somewhere? Thank you.

Solved. I had to edit /etc/yum.conf and add the following line in the main section in order to exclude the kernel packages:
Code:
exclude=kernel*
