How to best install Python 2.4 on EL4
I'm setting up several new servers running a mix of RHEL4 and CentOS4 and need to install Python 2.4. I haven't found any rpms that work for me. Tried pyvaults version for CentOS4 and keep running into the problem that it requires the alternatives package and doesn't recognize that alternatives has been installed. I have seen one suggestion of using the RHEL5 isos as a source for the Python 2.4 rpms.
Has anyone have other suggestions?
