How I Make More Virtual Terminal Other Than 6 Pre Available Terminals

How I Make More Virtual Terminal Other Than 6 Pre Available Terminals In Redhat Linux.(Text Based Terminals)

Means on keys ctrl+alt+A, ctrl+alt+B and so on........ on these keys I want to make new and more terminals. (text based terminals)


Also I Want To Know That How Many Terminals Can I Make In Redhat Linux.

In /etc/inittab you will see a series of entries like

2:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty2

This sets up virtual terminal 2 for runlevels 2-5. By adding more entries you could get more from Ctrl-Alt-F8 to Ctrl-Alt-F12. I believe there are up to 64 available, but I don't know how you get those above 12. If you wanted to use Ctrl-Alt-A etc (not a good idea as some software uses such combinations) I suspect you'd need to rewrite part of the OS.

Just out of curiosity: how many VTs do you want? And what do you want them for?

friend I want to that is it possible to make VT,s on clt+alt+A, clt+alt+B, and so on.............
