How do I upgrade kernel source?

How do I upgrade my kernel source located in /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/linux-2.4.20 ? I tried installing the .src.rpm package but it didn't work.

Thanks

You can run the Redhat Network Connection; usually the red 'X' down in the bottom right hand corner of your X-Window screen or you can delete the current /usr/src/linux-2.xx.xx directory and download the latest one from ftp.redhat.com. And then run 'rpm -ivh kernel-2.xx.yy.rpm.

These may not bet the best methods but they work for me.

you really dont have to delete the old source if you arent tight on space and want to keep old source around for some reason (i sometimes play with the different kernels just for practice).
