If you have free space available in your system, you can create new partition, without formatting your system.

The only way to resize is : Boot into your computer
from a live Linux cd. The recommended one is Gparted.
http://distrowatch.com/index.php?dis...h=all&year=all
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=gparted
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

Backing up your files / system before a re-size is a must.

If you do not want to pay for Red Hat support then go to www.centos.org and click on the "download" link and follow instructions.
