how 2 check RH version?


hi every1

how do i check which version of RH is running ona machine? I only have console access?
I think its version 7.x but i need the exact version and even the revision if possible.

thanks a lot ppl.

mingdao@james:~$ cat /etc/slackware-version
Slackware 10.0.0

I think if you substitute redhat for slackware this works.

a couple of ways to be exact:

- cat /etc/issue
- cat /etc/redhat-release
- rpm -q redhat-release

That should do it.
