HELP! installing 9.0 from HD, what files do i transfer in what directory structure?

I have 3 redhat CD's, i can only install from a HD, onto a thinkpad 240. i keep getting the message "dev/hda1 does not appear to contain Red Hat CDROM images"
What are these image files names?
What file sturcture do they need to be in?
I am using a FAT32 formatted 6G HD thats completly blank with no partions (the only info is the RedHat CD's directly copied onto it)
I don't know if this matters, but im using WinXp to transferr CD to laptop HD, then move the HD over to the laptop.
Help me out here, whats the deal?

Hi Diabolik*

You posted Dez. 2004 and I didn't find any reply (I'm new to this forum).
Since only 1 month passed by, I'm answering:

My experiences are with RHL7.2:
- the partition containing the image has to be ext2fs
- the image has to be an iso9660 image of the name *.iso (of the original boot CD)
- works well if *.iso is in the partition's root directory
- I created the image using KNOPPIX (some kind of Rescue LINUX on CD delivered with a journal named "c't":
I used the command #readcd dev=1,0 f=/mnt/hda2/rh72.iso (that's reading a cd and creating an authentic iso image)
(dev=1,0 was my 2nd CDROM, in the first CDROM my CD with KNOPPIX was booted)

That's all.

If you (already) succeeded, please tell me.
If, during the last month, you visited a page how to correctly create an iso-Image from an EDITED RHL-Boot-CD, please tell me too.

Best regards,
Andreas
