gnome-terminal opened for months looses mouse copy-paste

Hello,

At work we use RedHat and GNOME. I usually have few tens
of "gnome-terminal" opened (each for a specific task)
amd they stay opened for months (until electric power
maintenance forces us to power down everything). I noticed
that afer some LONG time of being opened, some of them loose
the ability to copy-paste with the mouse: when hitting the middle
mouse button, I get pasted what I marked to copy in another
gnome-terminal, even if the text is still marked in the current
gnome-terminal.
Using the keyboard (Ctrl-Insert, Shift-Insert) works OK.

Our current system is:

Code:
<asic-02>[atlas].../rundirs>uname -a
Linux ws-02.host.local 2.6.9-78.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 9 15:46:26 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
It's possible our OS version haven't been updated for a long time
but I think I've got this bug on previous versions too at previous
work places.

TIA for any ideas,
kaza.

Known bug - https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=600876. Seems Ubuntu's implemented a fix downstream for their own and dependent distros.
