Do you have Java installed? It seems that the Flash plugin won't work without it.

Are you actually using Netscape 7? If you are using Mozilla or Firefox (self-installed, rather than installed by the distro), copy the plugin from the Netscape 7 plugins directory to the plugins directory of the browser you are using. Self-installed/extracted nightlies or self-compiled builds don't always pick up the plugins in the Netscape 7 directory.

Hope this helps.

i dunno. i just wiped everything, downloaded NS 7.1 and j2re RPM, did ln -sf ~/libjavaplugin_oji.so in NS's /plugins file along with the ./flashplayer-installer, set the RealOne-alpha player as my download RM default. went to nasa.gov and tried everything out.
they all work. danged if i know what was wrong with NS 7. it would flash without java, or java without the flash, but not both together. wierd.
thanks for the suggestion
