FIxed disk i mounted as removable volume

hi,

I have rhel 5.4 64 bit installed on the ibm x3650 server having sas hard disks. Now i have added new mirrored disk to the server.
Linux is detected this fixed disk as removable volume
as /media/disk_1 . Even though i have unmounted this volume and mounted as # mount /dev/sdb1 /test the disk is detected as removable volume. Can any one help ....

thanks

Sounds like you're running a graphical desktop on your server .. right click and unmount the drive or from the command line 'umount /media/disk_1'. Then add an entry to /etc/fstab for the new volume and 'mount /test'.

i unmounted the /media/disk_1 and mounted it on /test using #mount /dev/sdb1 /test and kept it in /etc/fstab file. i have rebooted the system. Again it is mounted on /test but it is showing as removable volume on the desktop.

Well as long as it's mounted in the right place I suppose showing up as removable is a minor bug, search around and see what you can find - there may be a BZ filed for it
