Fedora and SATA, 875P ICH5R

Hi folks. I just found out here that Fedora is going to replace normal RedHat. So I am wondering--will the Fedora isos boot and install on newer Intel 875p motherboards? Will there be support for ICH5R SATA, Silicon Image SATA, Intel CSA ethernet, Realtek audio, etc?

Specifically, I am planning on building a system soon based on the Abit IC7 Max3 motherboard, and I would like to be single-booting into Fedora--so I want to make sure everything will work (either out of the box or with changes).

I have fedora installed , and realtek and my intel CSA nic works . So it should be a ok. And if it dont im sure you can hack up a driver for it anyways.

Thumbs up

Cool, thx for your reply darkseed. It's looking good--I can't wait to get my hands on this mobo. Have you tried installing to a SATA disk? I'd like to make my sole boot disk SATA, if I can. I have seen various references to the existence of a Silicon Image 3114 driver in the 2.4.22 kernel, but I've also seen some stuff saying that this driver is buggy or slow or something. Besides that, also, I have not seen anything about support for the ICH5R SATA channels, and that is where I would want to put my boot disk since it is faster than the PCI-based 3114.

Thanks again for your reply!
