Errata Maintenance End-of-life

Finally the day has come - I received an email from the RHN with this paragraph:

In accordance with our errata support policy, the Red Hat Linux 7.1,
7.2, 7.3 and 8.0 distributions have now reached their errata maintenance
end-of-life.

Is it possible to upgrade to Fedora without losing all the previous data? I haven't yet tested it...

I think so. I also think that installing a new OS on top of your old OS is too risky. I always put the new OS on its own partition and dual boot the two distributions until the new one is stable.
