domain change steps/files to change -- Red Hat

Our servers are currently running on Red Hat 5.8. What files need to be touched in order to implement a domain name change, i.e. 'domain.state.us' to 'newdomain.gov' -- omitting the dns server changes? If this can be done without redirects besides 301's, I'd prefer that. We are using Apache as a web server with several virtual hosts on each server. Each virtual host name will need to reflect the new domain, such as 'box1.domain.state.us' to 'box1.newdomain.gov'.

Thanks.

First I would type the following on the command line:

Quote:

domainname
Then I would look in:

Quote:

/etc/sysconfig/network
or

Quote:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth* or bond*
If you are using NIS then I would check this file:

Quote:

/etc/yp.conf
You might check this file as well to make sure it has the correct name as well.

Quote:

/etc/hosts
