DocumentRoot on a nfs mounted share

I have the DocumentRoot of the default virtual server configured and pointed to the NFS mounted share. How can I configure my web server so I can serve cgi and perl scripts from this NFS share. I am running Red Hat Linux es3 with Apache 2.x web server.

thanks for the help.
