DocumentRoot


Hi,
I'm using redhat 9 with apache 2.
I have a problem with document root

my virtual host is working like this document root
/var/www/mydirectory/
my index.html is working fine

but when I changed document root like this
/home/mydirectory/

its shows the test page. my index.html dosen't show up.
why?? please help me


this is my error log

[Mon Apr 26 11:42:38 2004] [error] [client 0.0.*.*] (13)Permission denied: access to /index.php denied

[Mon Apr 26 11:42:38 2004] [error] [client 0.0.*.*] (13)Permission denied: access to /index.html denied

[Mon Apr 26 11:42:38 2004] [error] [client 0.0.*.*] (13)Permission denied: access to /index.shtml denied

change the permission of /home/mydirectory. apache doesnt have permission to access that files.

u can change owner of directory and subdirectory and files:

chown apache:apache -R /home/myfolder

after that it will work.

Ftp

my home/myfolder working now...

but I create a cgi-bin directory inside myfolder

/home/myfolder/cgi-bin

it's working fine

but how can I give a ftp access this directory??

(myfolder ftp access working....

but /myfolder/cgi-bin/ ftp access is not working)

please help me.
