open a terminal, type in "su", type in your root password (it's normal that the characters do not appear), and then type in "xorgconfig". This will require a bit of information about your setup. You already know that you need the "sis" driver - but you will also need the refresh rates for your monitor and some in depth things about your mouse and the like. Hopefully, everything will work then.
