Default Gnome Desktop/Panel Configuration

Hello Members,

I am attempting to setup a Red Hat system that will be used by several users. I want to customize/change the "vanilla" desktop environment that is provided by Red Hat, including the permanent removal of the critical update icon.

I have downloaded the Gnome 2.2 Desktop Administration Guide, but I have had no success with determining how to do this.

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Michael
