Darpa Ftpd ssl support ie FTPS

I configured a red hat machine with 2.4.21 recently...pretty old I know but have to use this one. Anyways, I found DARPA ftpd on it and am using it for FTP service but need to enable ssl support on it. On doing "quote help" I could see AUTH, PBSZ and PROT on the list of supported commands but when I issue an "auth tls" it throws a 504 saying unknown auhtentication type tls.

I think ssl is there on it just I need to change some config file and associate a certificate to the server. Can anyone please point me to some help in this regard.
