Clearing Temporary Files

How do you clear temporary files, and temporary internet files in linux. My X server sometimes crashes and i think it may be because of temporary files. Even if it isn i still want to know how to fix them, so if anyone can help me, thanks.

Well you can always clear out any files in /tmp. At times its best to shutdown X and do this from the command line so you don't remove any tmp files that may be in use, so save your work, etc and remove all files from there.

Other than that, it all depends on your browser with tmp files. You can usually do this from the settings in the browser properties, etc.

If you provide some error messages when X crashes, I have a feeling its not tmp files causing the crashes, as I've never seen this occur myself.

Cheers.
