Have you considered buying a DVD writer that works? Seems that would be the best solution. Also you should (of course) check the CD for errors before installing. (I believe this feature is built in to the CentOS installer; don't skip that step!)

As was told to you in your other threads, SPELL OUT YOUR WORDS. Text abbreviations are against LQ rules, and write clearly.

Have you tried to do a text-install? And while it's booting up, hit escape, and see the details of what it's doing. In your other thread, you were asked things like what KIND of DVD writer (since you said that "everyone" but you could use it..), but you never answered. If you're not going to follow up, why bother posting a question?

Ok, that's progress. If the same DVD writer is working for everyone else, it's either the cable, or your motherboard. But...

...this makes no sense. You say you tested the CD and found it had errors...then ask how to find out if CD's have errors? You downloaded it from torrent. Download it directly from a mirror, and pay attention to the checksum before you burn it.

There is also question of possible errors of RAM modules. They can also produce CD/DVD read errors. I had several Windows 2000/XP installation processes (older cheap PC's) reporting CD read error, but it turned out memory modules where the culprits.
