I am trying to have linux dual boot with WINXP.
I have a typical problem in installing Redhat linux 9 on my desktop.

The follwoing is the configuration of my desktop:-

mother board:intel 82945G express graphics
processor: intel core2duo@1.8Ghz
RAM: 2GB
monitor: samsung syncmaster 17''
HArd disk :160Gb (not SATA)

The following bug encountered while formating the Partitions of the disk

Nope, post here read here.................

Red hat Linux 9 is to old for your hardware, it is a EOL'd OS anyway (for more then 3 years now). As a suggestion get a modern supported Linux OS, if staying with the Red Hat family then I suggest Fedora, CentOS or Scientific Linux;
