burned ISO image to a DVD but can't get to install on computer
I downloaded Red Hat the DVD version to my computer burned it to a DVD using Nero. I've try using sumcheck and everything is right, but it when I put the DVD in my other computer it won't boot. I've set the other computer to boot from the CD/DVD-rom first. Does the hard drive have to be blank or not formatted? I have XP on the computer now and am trying to get rid of windows systems I hear Linux is so much better. Please help me.
I used the burn disc image option and I can see all the files when I open the disk through windows. Files being: autorun, images, linux, etc. However, I still can't get it to boot for some reason. Do I have to go through DOS and have it boot manually or should it auto boot from the DVD?
I tired just makinga new disk in case it was the media a nd the new disk works. The problem now is get the install screen and as it is installing initrd.img, I get an error meassage "isolinux: disk error 10, AX = 4200, drive EF". Any idea on how to fix this?
