Black Screen after changing vga resolution
 

Hi all,
My computer screen has turned out black after changing the screen resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600 and a reboot in RHL 9.0. It does not show the login screen.
Please help me for this matter.

1. press Ctrl - Alt - F1 keys

2. login as user

3. cd /etc and vi inittab change the following line to id:3:initdefault: this will allow u to boot linux into text mode

4. reboot

5. follow steps 1-2 above

6. type redhat-config-xfree86 choose correct settings

7. cd /etc and vi inittab change the following line to id:5:initdefault: this will allow u to boot linux into GUI mode


u should be OK
