assigning range of ip address not working- ifcfg-eth0-range0


hi ,

i am new to linux and to this forum as well,i may be asking something quite simple
or may be missing something,pls kindly bare me if so.


i tried to assign the range of ip address to eth0.
but its not working.



Following is my configuration:

operating system : RHEL6


#vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:0

DEVICE="eth0:0"
TYPE="Ethernet"
IPADDR="192.168.1.108"
NETMASK="255.255.255.0"
GETWAY="192.168.1.1"
ONBOOT="yes"

Do i need to do something else,
i think ifconfig should list all the assigned range of ip address of eth0,

thx in advance

i guess you would need a network service restart
