6.2 Server Enterprise - Ext4 Superblock Failure leads to crash on start
I'm currently running 6.2 Enterprise as a web server. Upon boot, the system gets about halfway through loading and throws up this error:
>fsck.ext4: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/(our device): The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If it's valid or really contains an ext2 system then it's corrupt.
Then it gives the options to either Ctrl-D to continue or input Root password to go to a shell. I booted from a rescue disk and the dev in question was empty. At the time of the first crash, no one was working on the server which led me to believe that it was a hardware failure, but after doing some thorough testing the drives all seem fine. Now I have no idea what could have been the cause of the failure. I'm hesitant to just re-install the OS without finding out the cause because it could happen again.
Thanks for the help!
