$TERM Variable Problems
I just started messing with my laptop that I installed Red Hat 8.0 on it, and configured for my wireless network. When I ssh to it using Putty or any other SSH client and man anything, all hyphens are replaced with "â" and is annoying the hell out of me. I have tried using xterm and vt100 with no luck. The Putty profile I use to connect is the exact same as I use to connect to ALL of my other SSH accounts that range from Red Hat 5.2, 7.2, FreeBSD, Slackware, Gentoo, and SUSE boxes. None of the others give me this problem, but my laptop just doesn't want me to use man for some reason. I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP!!!!
