Using Puplet PupFlux412 on Toshiba 7000CT-Good choice for beginner Python programmer?

OK-installed PupFlux412 on my old Toshiba 7000CT-(160MB RAM, 4GB HD, no CDROM, 1 USB, 1 Floppy, Neomagic graphics), everything installed fine, up and running-Now-can I use Puppy for doing Python programming?
I am a newbie at Python and the laptop is my only portable, so what do I need to get started? Can Puppy handle this?
Thanks!

yes you can how I use the pupp412. and betapup420 I do a frugal install then install grub why.
because puppy is faster that way. Ether way you do it.
you need to down load the
devex.sfs for your version this allows you to have basic compilers and also get the kernel sfs to. If you want to build drivers. then any program from slackware 12.1 or 12.2 can be turned into a pet.
Just tgz2pet the file name now install and look for some dependencies.
another thing about frugal install makes upgrading easy you should try the new betapup4.20 it has two window managers and widgets.
The puppy form is really good Barry Is super people,
I make special pups for the students that are doing security computer science here at the U of IL They do a lot of java some ruby python. mostly java . puppy is no joke it is a serious O/S
