Stubborn directory does not want to leave peacefully :-)


I can not delete this friggin directory.

Windows can not delete it either.

What else can I do ?

# ls
Linux_Files Macrium_Images Reflect_Images TOSHIBA_SDB1
Linux_ISOS RECYCLER System Volume Information Windows_Files
# rm -r Macrium_Images
rm: cannot remove ‘Macrium_Images/903B85EC9C0C6630-00-00.mrimg’: No such file or directory
rm: cannot remove ‘Macrium_Images/Disk_Images.txt’: Input/output error

Input output error means there could be a hardware error or the file system is corrupt. If this is a windows partition then run a disk check on it from windows and try again. Also check 'dmesg' in Linux or event viewer system log in windows for any disk error messages.

Before I could do as you suggest, I copied the files from the external hard drive to another drive and reformatted it.

I think that also is a quick defrag method too. :-)
