Stop urxvt from using "color coding"

Is there a way to stop urxvt from using "color coding" when it shows files ?

It is using green font with the same green shading and I can't read a thing.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but I define my rxvt-unicode colour scheme using options in ~/.Xdefaults.

Here is a great site for trying out colour schemes (it uses .Xresources but the syntax is the same):
http://terminal.sexy/

If you mean the output of `ls` then you probably have an alias in .bashrc or /etc/bash.bashrc
Code:
alias ls='ls --color=auto'
If you remove this, it will output without the colours.

It is the ls command that has the color issues.

My .bashrc
Quote:
. /etc/profile

#v1.0.5 need to override TERM setting in /etc/profile...
#export TERM=xterm
# ...v2.13 removed.

#export HISTFILESIZE=2000
#export HISTCONTROL=ignoredups
#...v2.13 removed.
My .Xdefaults

An alias can be disabled temporarily using the following syntax:

## path/to/full/command ##
Code:
/usr/bin/ls
OR

## call alias with a backslash ##
Code:
\ls
Thanks.
