Setting up Puppy linux for my needs. Please help!!

I have a Dell XPS laptop. I have installed Puppy linux (lucid 5.28) on my usb flash drive and I am working from that drive. Please tell me how to:
1) Setup sound on my Puppy linux
2) Save my session to my flash drive.
3) Load my session again from my flash drive (while booting).
I have a problem too.. I have installed a software from the internet. It worked perfectly. After I shut down and rebooted, the software was gone.. So please explain how to retain my software after installing..

According to this link this method has a "persistant" option. I have seen this type of option in unetbootin for some distro's. You need to pick the option and designate the amount of space you wish to allocate for the files you want to save.

How to enable sound? My sound is perfectly okay in my Windows 7 (that is the main OS in my laptop). But it doesn't work in Lucid puupy linux ( which I use from my flash drive). Help is needed urgently.. Thanks in advance..

Once you boot into Puppy open a terminal and

Code:

alsamixer

-- Press F6 to select sound card

--Press m to toggle mute : Look at the base of the volume bar it may have to MM's which is the default. Pressing will switch the mute off.
