Seamonkey 1.1.15 closes abruptly, have downloaded 1.1.18 but can't install it!

I've read more than once that one must uninstall the previous version prior to the new installation; is this true?
My Puppy version is 4.2.1 & is installed as an alternative at boot time to Windows (frugal).
Have just 128MB of RAM & 19.6GB of HD space with ~5GB of free space (augmentable to around 7, if required).
After using PFinder noted that there were to tar.gz files, one is associated with windows & the other with linux, what this means? An error of mine when downloaded the update or that the search found a file in the Windows area? I had SM in my Windows OS before installing PL.
This 'crashing' problem made me download FF, it's doing the same thing but more frequently, & even within the start-up sequence.
I would like a logical strategy to pinpoint what's the problem & possible ways for solving it according to your experiences, guys. Thanks in advanced!

1.1.18 is included in Puppy 4.3
The problem is the proprietary flash player, this too has been upgraded in 4.3 and is stable

The Seamonkey browser closed abruptly again, but this time I started it from a terminal window & the error message is:

I was exploring everything within PL yesterday and found, again, a program named 'Blinky' that didn't sound too serious & closed it to see what happenned. Again, both Seamonkey & FF 4.3 stopped responding or were 'killed' by the system. On the last occassion even PL stopped responding (something that has happenned with increasing frequency). On those situations I haven't found a keyboard-shortcut/key-combination for restarting the system or better yet, to stop the offending process.
Today is another story: I've to go back to my Windows OS to use my FF 4.3 to get connected using my old dial-up connection because neither with FF nor SM it was possible to get connected with DSL through a lan cable connection. Apparently I broke something that by re-establishing my ether0 connectiion from PL isn't solved.
I want to upgrade to PL 4.3 but I'm afraid the easiest way to do it is from PL itself, although I know I can download the new version from Windows as I did with the original file & make the appropriate changes for it to work but I think risking loosing data & some settings.
PS My ethernet connection isn't working neither in Windows & I would like to fix this first. I'm not completely out of ideas at this moment but any help on these issues would be appreciated!
PSS Sorry to resort to editing this post but I've found that my problem was not Seamonkey nor FF (not even PL). The problem was with/at the DSL itself and self-corrected after turning everything off & restarting.

A few days ago downloaded PL's last ver but haven't used it because I cannot find the way to establish an internet connection. Have gone through the steps about 3 times but it works a little differrent from 4.2.1 (or looks like so).
Have downloaded twice SM too from the Mozilla site but it has been impossible to install it. Puppy is suppossed to be very user-friendly but, sometimes, it appears to me that when I'm approaching it has a 'good bone in the mouth'!
