Question Puppy 3.01 and SIS650

ok im trying to put puppy on older laptop (p4 1.8ghz 768ram) that has SIS650 video chipset. when i boot puppy live cd, i detects the chipset and the xorgwizard lets me choose svga 1280x1024x24 as the highest res, however the desktop is not stretched totally on the screen. i see black bands around the actual desktop space. if anyone with the same chipset could help me, id really appreciate it. post xorg.conf. the same thing happens with xvesa.
